If you want to get to Granada from Managua use the minibuses - 14 cordobas instead of 10 cordobas, but they are much much faster and more comfortable. They also enter the city and their final stop is just south of parque central. The regular chicken buses leave from mercado roberto huembes. The minibuses leave from someplace else which i dont know its name. Make sure the taxi driver understands that you need the minibuses and NOT the huembes staion.

Anyway, if you do take the chicken bus you can ask to get off at the ESSO gas station in the entrance to the city which is 20 minute walk from central park (3-5 minutes with taxi) and you can eat there and most importantly - take money from ATM machine which accepts mastercard and american express. (For visa you have one there too but also next to central parque).
